Black History Month and African-Caribbean Fusion Festival

Portsmouth Black History Committee hosts an afternoon of African and Caribbean food, music, fashion, culture and art. The Festival will be held on 5th October 2019 at the University of Portsmouth Eldon Building to celebrate the heritage, culture and diversity of local African and Caribbean communities. Everyone is welcome.

The free event will include performances by local artists, a fashion show featuring resident designers and African dance, community information stalls and a pop-up market with a range of African and Caribbean art, accessories and prints. In addition to African and Caribbean food vendors it will also aim to settle the #jollofwars as local cooks battle it out for the accolade of the best cook of this iconic West African rice dish.
