Is This Love Portsmouth for schools

Our Is This Love Portsmouth for schools campaign is run by schools and colleges in Portsmouth every year around Valentines Day. Pupils are provided with an assembly where they discuss healthy and unhealthy behaviours in relationships. The Safer Portsmouth Partnership provide posters, scratch cards and branded pens for each pupil to use alongside other materials.

A PowerPoint Presentation for the Is This Love Portsmouth campaign for schools is available to download here:

We also ask that any schools that take part complete a survey, so we can continue to improve the campaign.

We also added links to some videos on YouTube which can be shown where appropriate.

They will not be appropriate for every age group or child so please watch them first.

The first video was part of the Home Office’s This Is Abuse Campaign and shows teenage relationship abuse:

The following video below was made by Bridgend Women’s Aid and shows Domestic Abuse between parents and may be too upsetting for some pupils to watch.

The campaign was developed in Partnership with PARCS, Stop Domestic Abuse, formerly SDAS and Portsmouth City Council’s domestic abuse service.

Stop Domestic Abuse can also offer further support to schools, families and individuals where required. Please contact info@stopdomesticabuse.uk or call them on 023 9206 5494.

If your school would like to take part in 2020, please email corporate.communications@portsmouthcc.gov.uk
