Triple P Parenting support

Parenting Triple P

Did you know - Portsmouth City Council can offer session for parents?

Good parenting is a major factor in helping children and young people to achieve and enjoy positive experiences. As Parents we want the best for our children. The Safer Portsmouth Partnership recognises that parenting is an important and often challenging task, and at some point all parents need some degree of advice, support or specific help to be successful parents.

Families are organised in many different ways, so we understand that parenting can be provided by a range of people, not only birth mums and dads, but carers, step-parents, and extended family members such as grandparents, adoptive parents, foster carers or other adults who provide care for children, whether on a paid or voluntary basis - including childminders.

The council offers a range of help - including one-to-one advice sessions, workshops and seminars, which you can book directly by contacting your local children's centre. Further details on available workshops can be found below.

Alternatively, a program of evidence-based parenting courses including Triple P, Incredible Years, is provided to help parents manage their children's behaviour.
