Making Portsmouth Safer
Welcome to the Safer Portsmouth Partnership, the key anti-crime and drugs organisation for Portsmouth.
We are actively reducing crime and substance misuse in Portsmouth making the city a safe place to live, work and visit.
The Safer Portsmouth Partnership includes a range of agencies tackling problems that affect the city.
Partners such as the police, council, fire service and NHS are all involved in combating anti-social behaviour and other crimes.

What have you done to help reduce crime today?
Reducing crime is a top priority for the people of Portsmouth; the Safer Portsmouth Partnership, which includes a range of agencies, has identified priorities and published plans on how together we can tackle the problems that effect the city in order to create safer communities where people are safe and feel safe.
And while we recognise we need leadership from senior managers of the local agencies to tackle the problems, actually, we can all help to reduce crime in Portsmouth. With that in mind, the Safer Portsmouth Partnership has launched a campaign called ‘What have you done to help reduce crime today?’
In everything we do, whether at home or at work, we should consider the implications of our actions - ask yourself - am I likely to effect crime and disorder and can I do more to prevent it?
Every crime has a victim, an offender and a location. Take away one corner of the triangle and you stop a crime from happening.
So, what can you do to help reduce crime today? Whether it's not leaving valuables on display in your car or putting locks on your windows at home, or when you're at work, arranging for graffiti to be removed, organising youth activities or fixing broken street lights, you can remove a corner of that triangle; we can all help to reduce crime.
You can even help by telling your colleagues about 'What have you done to help reduce crime today?' and advise them of things they can do to help.
Together we can all help to reduce crime in Portsmouth, to ensure it remains a safe place to live, work and visit.Community Safety Conference - 'What have you done to help reduce crime today' - Tuesday 16th September 2008.
The Community Safety Conference was the concluding event in our highly successful Beacon Status year. It was organised to showcase the good practise in tackling and preventing anti-social behaviour, for which we received this prestigious award. One hundred delegates from various partner agencies and staff attended the full day event at the Holiday Inn at Pembroke Road. The programme included various workshops and keynote speakers, highlighted successful projects and gave the opportunity for group discussion and debates on current topics affecting all agencies, such as Section 17 legislation.
