In order for the Safer Portsmouth Partnership (SPP) to work effectively the different agencies need to collaborate to deliver the best outcomes for the people of Portsmouth. The SPP relies on good quality data to inform its work.
The SPP reviews data quarterly using a Performance Management Framework.. Data is collected from a range of sources relating to all the objectives of the Community Safety Strategy. The quality and quantity of data is variable, and needs further development.
Communication is an important function of the SPP. It is essential to communicate with the public, promoting the work undertaken by partner agencies to reduce the impact of crime, disorder and substance misuse. Effective communication can help promote the SPP and promote its positive work. This communication can also address the negative images, stories and stereotypes often portrayed by the media. The SPP has recruited a dedicated Communications Officer to deliver a SPP Communications Strategy.
