Anti-social Behaviour (ASB) is a key priority for the Safer Portsmouth Partnership (SPP). You can download the Anti-social Behaviour Delivery Plan for 2008-2009 here.
The SPP Anti-social Behaviour Champion is Kevin Evenett (job title) Hampshire Fire & Rescue Service. Kevin is responsible for ensuring the that the ASB objective and agenda is fulfilled.
ASB is defined in section 1 (1) a of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 as an individual acting in a manner that caused or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to one or more persons, not of the same household as him/herself
The Anti Social Behaviour Unit (ASBU) will work with city residents and partner agencies to ensure a multi agency approach to reducing ASB and creating safer communities.
The ASBU consists of staff from the Portsmouth City Council’s Community Safety Team, Hampshire Constabulary, Local Authority Housing Service, Preventing Youth Offending Project (PYOP), and Motiv8, and therefore enabling a multi agency approach when managing reports of ASB.
The ASBU also works closely with the Hampshire Constabulary, Community Wardens, Drug Action Team, Hidden Violence, PYOP, Motiv8, Leisure Services, Clean City Service, Probation, Youth Offending Team and Social Services.
