Our Aim: Making Portsmouth a city where alcohol is enjoyed responsibly and harm to individuals, families and communities is reduced.
Our work on reducing the harm caused by alcohol has proven successful both in reducing alcohol-related hospital admissions to below the national average and reducing alcohol-related violence in the night-time economy. However, despite this good work, Portsmouth still has an alarmingly high rate of Alcoholic Liver Disease which we are working hard to tackle at a local level. We have a number of alcohol-related campaigns aimed at educating people about liver disease.
